Networking- Macatawa Technologies can install
and maintain you business or home network, allowing
your computers to work together and share a high speed
internet connection.
If you are currently using dial-up for Internet access,
you are paying $20 a month for an extra phone line,
plus $20 for you dial-up account. If you install a
DSL or Cable Modem, you will pay around $30 a month
for high speed Internet access. You can then get rid
of your old dial-up account and second phone line,
thus spending only a little bit more for high speed,
always on internet access that can be shared with
multiple computers.
Installation- Every network we install is
fully compliant with the latest IEEE standards. We
will do an initial survey of where the network is
to be installed, offer advice and options on what
type of network would be best, and offer an estimate
of how much it would cost to install.
Ethernet/Fiber Optics- For most hard wired
networks, Category 5e Ethernet cable is used to connect
all computers to a main router/switch. This will allow
for the network speed to be upgraded at a later time
without needing to replace the cables. Depending on
the size of the network and the distance between access
points, fiber optics may be needed to connect main
switches together.
Wireless- Wireless networks can be used along
with wired networks to allow more freedom. Using 802.11
wireless protocols, users can browse the Internet,
access files on the network, or send and receive emails
without needing to be near an ethernet port.
